How Laptop Keyboard Arrange Its keys’ Distribution
Most people are quite familiar with the computer keyboard. Usually, we used it often, but we are not so familiar as we thought. Like theCompaq 441427-001 Laptop Keyboard, they are the commonly used keyboard.
You may ask: are there any differences among laptops keyboards? The answer is absolutely “Yes”. Take this Dell 6400 keyboard for example; do you know how many keys distributed? Do you know why they have this kind of distribution layout? For most laptop keyboards, the keys are at the same size and shape. Whatever the language or alphabet on the key, key spacing and layout are similar.
For most keyboards, they have 80-100 keys distributed on the keyboard which including Enter key, Numeric keypad, Function keys and the control keys. It’s the same layout of the keys with the type writer. It’s the prevailing distribution-QWERT layout. It’s said that this can reduce the scratches of the metal inside. This QWERT keyboard layout of the laptop has captured the mainstream of the computer keyboard distribution like this dell NC929 keyboard.
In fact, there are other kinds of computer keyboards that we seldom get close to. The most widely known is Dvorak keyboard. It’s named by the name of the inventor- August Dvorak. Dvorak will keep all of the vowels to the left of the keyboard arrangements, and common consonants in the right side of the keyboard. All the most commonly used letters are located in the base line; base line is placed on your finger when you start typing a letter key row. Some people prefer to this keyboard layout for the time saving. Other keyboard layouts are ABCDE, XPeRT, QWERTZ and AZERTY types. Each keyboard layout is named from the first few letters. QWERTZ and AZERTY keyboard layout is widely used in Europe.
Numeric keypad is added to the computer keyboard in recent years. As the application of the laptop in business environment, data entry has become more and more used at working. as a result the laptop has been added this part to speed up the working efficiency.
Though the laptop keyboard is not a novel component of the laptop, we have little knowledge of it. I never question why the layout is designed like this not in that way. As my Dell 630M keyboard, now I know why it’s made in that way. Hope this article can give you useful information to know better of the laptop keyboard.
